The Eastern Michigan University baseball team faced a challenging doubleheader against Bowling Green State University on Saturday, April 26 at Steller Field in Bowling Green, Ohio. In Mid-American Conference play, Eastern Michigan fell in both games — losing the first game 11-4 and the second game 10-9 in a walk-off.

Post-doubleheader, Eastern Michigan’s record is now 17-20, with a conference record of 9-11. Bowling Green improved its standing to 27-14 overall and 15-8 in the MAC.

The Eagles’ Giano Zuccaro excelled in the first game, achieving three extra-base hits, including his second home run of the season. “Zuccaro went 3-for-4 from the plate with one home run, two doubles, one walk, and two runs scored,” an official noted. In the same game, Bowling Green’s Owen Poole secured the win, while Colin Milligan took the loss for Eastern Michigan.

In the second game, Ty Stecko led the Eagles by hitting a home run and driving in three runs. Collectively, Eastern once again took an early lead, but Bowling Green managed a comeback to seal the game with a walk-off victory. “The Eagles lost after leading after six innings for just the fourth time this season,” sources confirmed.

Both games contributed to the lengthy history between the two teams, being the 192nd and 193rd meetings, respectively.

The Eagles are set to conclude the three-game series with Bowling Green on Sunday, April 27, with a game starting at 1:05 p.m. at Steller Field.
