Five student-athletes from Eastern Michigan University’s baseball team have been recognized with the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District distinction. The announcement was made on June 3 by the organization.

The honorees are Drew Norris, Logan Hugo, Tyler Kapa, Brendan Kleiman, and Drew Beckner. The CSC Academic All-District Baseball Teams acknowledge student-athletes for their academic and athletic achievements. Eligibility for the award requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and participation in 90% of team contests. Pitchers must have at least 17 appearances or pitch a minimum of 25 innings.

Drew Norris leads the group academically with a 3.91 GPA in general business. Logan Hugo ranks second with a 3.89 GPA in finance and has received his second consecutive CSC Academic All-District recognition after a standout season that earned him All-MAC Second Team honors. Tyler Kapa, who led the MAC in strikeouts this season with 90, holds a 3.88 GPA in individualized studies. Brendan Kleiman earns his first NCAA Division I accolade with a 3.72 GPA as a communication major, while Drew Beckner concludes his collegiate career with All-MAC Second Team and Tournament Team honors and a 3.69 GPA in individualized studies.

This achievement raises EMU baseball’s total to 26 all-time honors since 2002, with contributions from 21 different student-athletes. Notably, Logan Hugo joins an elite group of players who have received this honor twice during their careers at EMU.
