The NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee has announced the participants for the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships First Round. Eight athletes from Eastern Michigan University (EMU) have qualified to compete in the NCAA East First Round, which will be held at Visit Jax Hodges Stadium, hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, from May 28-31.

Five male athletes and three female athletes from EMU will participate in this event. The successful qualifiers from both the East and West Regions will advance to the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field, University of Oregon, Eugene, scheduled for June 11-14.

Among the men’s team, senior hurdler Gabe Singh is notable for his performance with a 400m hurdles time ranked 25th in the East Regional. Brendan Hill and Lucky Fiaku have secured their spots with high jump marks tying for second in their conference. Sophomore Jake McEachern will compete in hammer throw with a season-best mark placing him second in his conference. Junior Kian Wiles rounds out the men’s entries with a competitive time in the 1500m race.

On the women’s side, junior Micah Martin holds a high-ranking mark among her peers in high jump. Saraiah Walkes is set to compete following an MVP performance at recent championships with her top-ranked regional time in the 400m dash. Senior Isabella Brent completes EMU’s lineup as she prepares to participate in hammer throw.

Qualifying Eagles will aim to progress further into national championships next month.
