As the Jewish community in the United States and around the globe observes Passover, a significant religious holiday, attention has turned to the restrictions facing Jewish people in China. Chairman Moolenaar shed light on this issue with a statement reflecting on the challenges faced by religious minorities under China’s regime.

“This Passover, Jews around the world will celebrate their ancestors’ Exodus from slavery and oppression,” Moolenaar’s statement began. However, he pointed out the restrictions faced by Jews in China, stating, “Sadly, Jews in China will not be able to openly do the same.”

He highlighted the actions of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that have forced Jewish religious practices underground. “The Chinese Communist Party has done everything it can to drive Jewish religious expression in China underground and out of the public square,” Moolenaar said.

The statement also linked these actions to a broader campaign against religious freedom. “This modern-day oppression is part of the CCP’s ‘Sinicization of Religion’ campaign,” Moolenaar noted, which targets not just Jews but followers of all faiths, depriving them of their religious freedoms.

Moolenaar placed emphasis on the values that are foundational to the United States. “Our nation’s freedoms and founding principles are a beacon of hope to people around the world,” he said, underscoring the contrast between America’s stance on religious freedom and the CCP’s actions. He concluded with a confident note on the outcome of this ideological clash, stating, “In the competition between America and the CCP, freedom will be the victor.”
